Hot, humid days like today remind me of my youth and going for an ice cream and a Pepsi. Nothing beats the heat like a freezing cold, sweet, melting-in-the-sun drippy ice cream cone. Nothing! So when Myrissa asked me if wanted to do a location photoshoot at an ice cream shop, I was in like gangbusters! I met Myrissa and her fiance Mike at Slinky's Ice Cream in Tecumseh, Ontario. Swimwear portraits at Point Pelee National Park with model Kristy Lee in a Guess Bikini. Kit Swimwear portraits.. spring, summer or fall my beach kit is simple. When shooting swimwear and thinking lenses, the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS is my go-to for beach/location portraits. The compression at 200mm is absolutely amazing as is the bokeh at f/2.8. It should be interesting to see what the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 ART can do in 2017 when it gets warm enough to be on the beach and not turn into a human icicle. Natural Light Portrait – Krysta Lynn in Guess

A fresh natural light portrait of Krysta Lynn in a beautiful dress by Guess, captured in my new studio in Downtown Windsor, Ontario. Also new is a lens added to my collection; the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 EX DG from the Sigma ART line of lenses. This lens is as heavy as everyone said but it feels great in my hands. The focus ring is large enough for a monkey to maneuver so no problems there. The depth of field is wickedly shallow and the bokeh is absolutely beautiful, melting away even the ugliest background. Pinup Coke with Beckey

Pinup with Beckey I have always loved shooting pinup photography. I collaborated with Leamington model Beckey Holmes on a Pinup themed photoshoot based on a Coke costume she had purchased online. I had the Coke crates and bottles already in my prop collection so all I needed to do was plan some appropriate lighting. After doing much research I decided on a 4 light setup (1 key, 2 rim and 1 fill) and after 45 minutes in studio and a number of hours in Photoshop, I had the perfect set.
