Swimwear Photography in Windsor, Ontario at Akey Photography Studio!
My studio has been relocated from West Windsor to downtown Windsor. DJ Sarah Sabatini contacted me to do a promotional shoot for her business profile. Since the weather is still cold for beach shooting, we decided to shoot in-studio. We got Sarah in the studio and created a series of images with 3-4 different swimsuits to give her a good selection of choices. Here is one of my favorites, a recent studio swimwear image from the session.

Swimwear portraits at Point Pelee National Park with model Kristy Lee
Swimwear portraits.. spring, summer or fall my beach kit is simple. When shooting swimwear and thinking lenses, the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS is my go-to for beach/location portraits. The compression at 200mm is absolutely amazing as is the bokeh at f/2.8. It should be interesting to see what the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 ART can do in 2017 when it gets warm enough to be on the beach and not turn into a human icicle.
As a backup to natural light, I typically bring an Alien Bees B1600 and the Alien Bees 22″ standard white beauty dish. I typically teeter back and forth between natural light and studio light to give the model/client more options.
The gallery below is a set of favorites from our shoot with Kristy at Point Pelee. I plan to visit this park a lot this year as in 2017 is Canada’s 150th birthday and I have my 2017 National Parks pass and plan to make good use of it! 🙂
Thanks to Kristy Lee! You rocked it! <3
Swimwear Photography – Selected images from our swimwear photography session with Canadian beauty Nelly at Point Pelee National Park in Leamington, Ontario Canada.
Shooting on the beach shortly before sunset and into the sunset hour, we captured a selection of swimwear images for our portfolios.
Technical: Canon 5D Mark II, Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L, Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS, Aliens Bees B1600
Swimwear and casual photography make up the largest chunk of my portfolio.
Chelsey and I have been Facebook friends for some time and have discussed shooting here and there but It wasn’t until this last week that we finally got a chance to work together.
I met Chelsey and her boyfriend at Point Pelee National Park to capture some casual and bikini images of Chelsey. I have used this park many times but always seem to find something different, a unique perspective or composition that appeals to the eye more than the usual..
My plan was to go natural light around the boardwalk and then use my Alien Bees AB-1600 with 22″ beauty dish for some beach shots.
All in all, everything went well. We had fun shooting this set.
Here are a few personal favorites from the set. Thanks to Chelsey “Girl Next Door” Makayla for the time and effort and for being easy on the eyes. 🙂
I am planning to shoot a lot of swimwear in the remainder of July and into August 2016. This week, Sharon and I met up with Nelly (previously featured in our Penthouse Shoot) to capture some editorial casual and swimwear photos. Below is an early teaser of a larger set that we will be sending off for publication.
