My model Lizzy and I like to find unique public or private locations for a fashion photoshoot. This time we wanted a riverfront spot with blacks or browns and a lot of unique character or textures to capture stunning images of Lizzy in Sullen Clothing and accessories. We decided to see what we could accomplish around the HMCS Hunter building at the foot of Mill street in Windsor. I picked Lizzy up and we drive together to the site. I loved the windows, the curved garden wall and, the black fencing. So, we focused on those elements and after shooting for about 25 minutes, we were done. Myrissa and I met at my studio to do some dramatic portraits with coloured light gels and a fog machine. The studio portraits we created exhibit a strong sense of drama and mood, achieved through posing, styling, and lighting. Fashion Photoshoot: Natalie Laliberte in Calvin Klein Underwear I met local model Natalie Laliberte in my studio to do a fashion photoshoot. We are constantly upgrading our respective portfolios. Whenever possible, I love to shoot with brand name fashion and accessories. Natalie arrived to the studio with tight curls, minimal makeup and Calvin Klein underwear. What a combination! The set was lit with a single Alien Bees B800 with a large octabox. A v-flat provided fill to lift the shadows. All images were captured with Canon 5D Mark II and the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 ART lens. We just had to use it for this shoot! Locations We decided to drive around and scout some locations that would suit the look I was going for. Fashion Portraits with Playboy Plus model and Naked News personality Krysta Lynn I recently picked up the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 EX DG ART lens for my Canon DSLR and I have to say it is quickly becoming my go-to portrait lens! This lens is exactly as the reviews said. It is bulky and heavy but it is also everything else the reviews say. It is a fast piece of glass that just feels good and solid in my hands.  I have done a few personal/portfolio shoots and worked the Sigma for maybe half of the session. Natural Light Portrait – Krysta Lynn in Guess

A fresh natural light portrait of Krysta Lynn in a beautiful dress by Guess, captured in my new studio in Downtown Windsor, Ontario. Also new is a lens added to my collection; the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 EX DG from the Sigma ART line of lenses. This lens is as heavy as everyone said but it feels great in my hands. The focus ring is large enough for a monkey to maneuver so no problems there. The depth of field is wickedly shallow and the bokeh is absolutely beautiful, melting away even the ugliest background. Meet Maia, an aspiring 16-year old model and actress from Windsor, Ontario! I was contacted by Maia in March to photograph a modeling portfolio for her. Previously, I photographed images for the portfolio of her mom, Carol Parris. Maia was impressed enough by our work with her mom that she contacted me to produce her first modeling portfolio. We arranged to meet at my studio to capture a selection of outfits and poses. You can imagine how happy I was when I opened this month's Digital Photographer Issue 167 and turned to page 12 to see one of my images published within. This particular image of amateur model Melissa Ann Scott was requested for publication from my image gallery on Digital Photographer Magazine's website by one of the magazine's editors.
