Portraits – Nelly – Point Pelee Marsh Boardwalk

A few days ago, we met Nelly to shoot portraits on location at one of my favorite locations, Point Pelee National Park. While my main goal was to shoot bikini images for submission to swimwear magazines, I wanted to also shoot a set on the boardwalk. The boardwalk is rich in wood and natural background textures so the images always come out stunning. A little bit of Photoshop magic to polish off the set is all that is required for my natural light style. A portrait of Katie Lalonde in the tall grass. I had a lot of fun working with Katie on location! So here's another one from her recent natural light shoot. This one in the tall grass at the same park. I will be using this location a lot with clients and models! Meet Maia, an aspiring 16-year old model and actress from Windsor, Ontario! I was contacted by Maia in March to photograph a modeling portfolio for her. Previously, I photographed images for the portfolio of her mom, Carol Parris. Maia was impressed enough by our work with her mom that she contacted me to produce her first modeling portfolio. We arranged to meet at my studio to capture a selection of outfits and poses. Maia arrived at the studio with her stylists (mom Carrol Parris and sister Kiswanna Parris) and Maia did her own makeup. I have worked with Katelynn a number of times in the past. If you have looked through our portfolio images here on akeyphoto.com, you may have recognized her. Katelynn has returned to resume modeling a while after the birth of her first child. This time she wanted to try some implied topless nudes and also shoot in her "schoolgirl" outfit. Location Portraits – Ashley

Location portraits are a nice change of pace from my studio work.  Sometimes, I just want to grab my camera, a model and go and shoot without all the extra gear.  This was one of those days. I always look forward to working with Ashley. She is always fun and we laugh a lot.  We got together for a couple of hours to shoot on location as a change from our studio collaborations. It was a cool day but not terribly frigid. I brought a single Yonguo manual flash, a small octabox in case I wanted to add fill light in backlit situations and my camera bag with camera body and lenses suitable for portraiture and landscape photography.…

Model Portfolio - Ashley I have been mentoring new and aspiring models for quite some time, building their model portfolio, creating solid, usable and images worthy of publishing. Sometimes I work under the auspices of TF which gives me the chance to practice new photography, lighting and posing techniques or to affirm my grasp of techniques used previously. Fashion Photography – inspired by Miley Cyrus

Fashion Photography with Nikki Leigh in a Miley Cyrus inspired photoshoot Nikki Leigh and I often get together to create something different than we have done previously. Sometimes there is an idea or concept planned and other times we just play with light and posing. The idea for this series came from a photo Nikki sent me as inspiration for her shoot. She sent me a photo of the shirt she had in her closet that she thought would be perfect and she was right. I decided to have some fun with a one-light setup for visual impact with the t-shirt pattern. Here are some images from the shoot with Nikki Leigh, inspired by Miley Cyrus.
