Boudoir Photography – Megan

Boudoir Photography at Akey Photography Studio. A selection of samples from a recent studio boudoir  photography session with fitness trainer Megan. Captured in my photography studio in downtown Windsor, Ontario. For this session we used both natural daylight and studio flash. I used a selection of portrait prime and telephoto lenses, including my most recent addition, the Sigma 85mm ART lens which I continue to find reasons to use more and more. Swimwear Photography in Windsor, Ontario at Akey Photography Studio! My studio has been relocated from West Windsor to downtown Windsor.  DJ Sarah Sabatini contacted me to do a promotional shoot for her business profile. Since the weather is still cold for beach shooting, we decided to shoot in-studio. We got Sarah in the studio and created a series of images with 3-4 different swimsuits to give her a good selection of choices.  Here is one of my favorites, a recent studio swimwear image from the session. Fashion Portraits – Sigma 85mm f/1.4 EX DG ART

Fashion Portraits with Playboy Plus model and Naked News personality Krysta Lynn I recently picked up the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 EX DG ART lens for my Canon DSLR and I have to say it is quickly becoming my go-to portrait lens! This lens is exactly as the reviews said. It is bulky and heavy but it is also everything else the reviews say. It is a fast piece of glass that just feels good and solid in my hands.  I have done a few personal/portfolio shoots and worked the Sigma for maybe half of the session. Outdoor Boudoir – Krysta

Outdoor boudoir on location in summer of 2016. Windsor's own Playboy Plus model and Naked News personality Krysta Lynn, Ray Akey of Ray Akey Photography and Windsor hair artist Wissam Kayal collaborated on an outdoor boudoir photography session conducted at Ojibway Park and Nature Preserve and the Ojibway Prairie.  For this session, there were no flashes or reflectors used. This session was captured with Canon 5D Mark II and Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS lens using only sunlight.  Below is a selection of favorites from the shoot.

Natural Light Portrait – Krysta Lynn in Guess

A fresh natural light portrait of Krysta Lynn in a beautiful dress by Guess, captured in my new studio in Downtown Windsor, Ontario. Also new is a lens added to my collection; the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 EX DG from the Sigma ART line of lenses. This lens is as heavy as everyone said but it feels great in my hands. The focus ring is large enough for a monkey to maneuver so no problems there. The depth of field is wickedly shallow and the bokeh is absolutely beautiful, melting away even the ugliest background. In fashion photography, the "star" of the photo shoot is the apparel and accessories. We capture fashions so as to highlight their physical qualities and formal appearance. The wardrobe for this particular shoot was lingerie provided by sexylingerieland.  Krysta Lynn - Model Our model for this set, beautiful Krysta Lynn, whom we have worked with previously. Krysta is friendly, outgoing, fun, has a love for Playboy and has been published in industry magazines. She has also done shoots for Playboy Magazine. Sexylingerieland is Krysta's sponsor and provides clothing to support promotional shoots. Studio Boudoir with Sarah Boudoir photography doesn't have to be challenging. What started out as "I have a double bed with a duvet in the studio and I can use some sheer curtains as a backdrop," turned into a beautiful, magazine quality boudoir set. Sarah, a local beauty and I planned to get together again and shoot some boudoir images for her image portfolio. Meet Maia, an aspiring 16-year old model and actress from Windsor, Ontario! I was contacted by Maia in March to photograph a modeling portfolio for her. Previously, I photographed images for the portfolio of her mom, Carol Parris. Maia was impressed enough by our work with her mom that she contacted me to produce her first modeling portfolio. We arranged to meet at my studio to capture a selection of outfits and poses. Maia arrived at the studio with her stylists (mom Carrol Parris and sister Kiswanna Parris) and Maia did her own makeup. I have worked with Katelynn a number of times in the past. If you have looked through our portfolio images here on akeyphoto.com, you may have recognized her. Katelynn has returned to resume modeling a while after the birth of her first child. This time she wanted to try some implied topless nudes and also shoot in her "schoolgirl" outfit. Boudoir Photography is a genre of photography that I have studied and practiced for many years, inspired by the works of Allen, Beaton, Meisel and many, many others who came before.  It fills me with pleasure when I can present to women beautiful and desirable images that illustrate their softer/sensual side.. Jo-Ann is a friend, a beautiful woman, wife and mother and she also has a career. I have been a subscriber to many of UK based Imagine Publishing's magazines from Advanced Photoshop to my current favorite Digital Photographer Magazine. You can imagine how happy I was when I opened this month's Digital Photographer Issue 167 and turned to page 12 to see one of my images published within. This particular image of amateur model Melissa Ann Scott was requested for publication from my image gallery on Digital Photographer Magazine's website by one of the magazine's editors. The flower crown was constructed by my wife Sharon Akey (http://curiosnthings.com) from various flowers purchased at the dollar store.
