Mental Health Awareness

A photoshoot with model Lizzy Grandmaison focused on mental health. These photos are a powerful visual tool to bring attention to the emotional toll of bullying and name-calling, especially for young women. These harmful behaviors can have a lasting impact, leading to feelings of inadequacy, anxiety, and depression. Lizzy evokes the raw emotions women experience when subjected to verbal abuse, illustrating the vulnerability and pain that often remain hidden behind the smiles and facades they put up for the world. Our goal was to shed light on the profound effects that bullying, whether in schools, workplaces, or online, has on mental well-being, making it clear that words have weight.

The idea behind this shoot was to showcase moments of isolation, sadness, or distress after enduring cruel words.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact your local Mental health organizations who offer resources and support for those struggling with the effects of bullying. Below are some organizations you can contact for support:

  • National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI): A nationwide organization that offers mental health support and resources. Website: www.nami.org
  • The Trevor Project: A suicide prevention hotline for LGBTQ+ youth, which also addresses bullying and its impacts. Website: www.thetrevorproject.org

These organizations provide a range of services, from helplines to community programs, offering both emotional and practical support to help individuals navigate the effects of bullying and mental health challenges.
