A high ISO frame from my recent shoot with too pretty for words model Katie Lalonde. I usually use anywhere from 3 to 5 studio lights for much of my work. However, this summer I am absolutely loving the challenge of these natural light shoots!
I used no light modifiers on this shot and no artificial light, just a perfect exposure on a pedestrian bridge at a local park I love to shoot in around 7pm on a summer evening. In order to get a shake-free image handheld under this canopy of trees, I had to bump the ISO to 1600 for this shot. No worries, the Canon 5D Mark II has great high ISO performance and the image stabilization of the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS help as well. Some noise/grain is the price of high ISO but I don’t mind grain at all and the images look great in print!
