The Guyitt Homestead – Talbot Trail – Palmyra, ON

The Guyitt Homestead In a previous blog post, I showed you photos of an abandoned house on the Talbot Trail. Also known as highway 3, The Talbot Trail is home to a number of abandoned and decaying houses.  This time the subject of this post is the actual Guyitt Homestead Taking a Drive I have been meaning to get out and photograph this house for a number of years. We finally got around to it this summer of 2018. Sharon and I got in the car and made the drive, around 75 minutes by car, from Windsor. It is located on the Talbot Trail between Palmyra and Clearville. Taking It In Seeing it in…

Swimwear Photography – Point Pelee – Shelby Lee

Swimwear Photography with Shelby Lee I like to do as many swimwear photography shoots as possible during the spring/summer seasons. As with many of my beach/swimwear shoots, I love to use Point Pelee National Park. It has many beaches on both east and west sides so morning or evening, the light is useable. We just pick the beach based on sunrise or sunset. My model on this day was Shelby Lee, a gorgeous blonde model who needed images for Maxim's Finest contest. Shelby was super easy to work with, had previous modeling experience and was very receptive to suggestions with posing and expressions. I will definitely be working with Shelby again! Lighting the Shoot…

Abandoned House – The Talbot Trail – Palmyra, ON

Abandoned House in Southern Ontario On a recent drive out to the county, we came across this abandoned house. The Talbot Trail, also known as highway 3, is home to a number of abandoned and decaying houses. This one is on the Talbot Trail just East of Palmyra, Ontario. This is not the Guyitt Homestead but another home west of the Guyitt Homestead. Condition Sharon and I spotted this house on the way to another abandoned house on the Talbot Trail. I don't know how long it has been empty, but it appears to be under the process of being demolished. All of the windows and exterior wood had been removed and, there were…

Sierra Dupuis – Prom Day – Jackson Park

Meet my great niece Sierra Dupuis. Sharon and I met up with Sierra, sister Savannah and their mom Theresa at Jackson Park in Windsor to snap some pretty photos of Sierra in her prom dress.  5 proms in the park this day made it a bit of a challenge! We had to forego the lighting I had planned and worked with available light. We got lucky when clouds moved in to diffuse the sunlight ever so nicely. :) I posted some of these on my Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/akeyphoto on the day of the prom but have added a few more previously unseen prom photos with Sierra's cousin Nick Iacono.

Wedding Photography – Ava and Chris
The wedding of Chris and Ava Moor.

Wedding Photography – Ava and Chris

Ava and Chris Moor Wedding Photography | Ava and Chris Moor I have not advertised that I do wedding photography. However, our new friends Ava and Chris were referred by a mutual friend who knows my photography work very well; a friend whom I have collaborated with in the past. Ava had been searching for a wedding photographer that fit her needs. We had a consultation and found that she needed someone available short-term and didn't want a full day of photography. The wedding would be a simple ceremony with a small bridal party and select guests. Sharon and I were also welcomed to attend a small reception with wine and snacks, as guests not photographers. (I planned to…
