Mental Health Awareness

A photoshoot with model Lizzy Grandmaison focused on mental health. These photos are a powerful visual tool to bring attention to the emotional toll of bullying and name-calling, especially for young women. These harmful behaviors can have a lasting impact, leading to feelings of inadequacy, anxiety, and depression. Lizzy evokes the raw emotions women experience when subjected to verbal abuse, illustrating the vulnerability and pain that often remain hidden behind the smiles and facades they put up for the world. Our goal was to shed light on the profound effects that bullying, whether in schools, workplaces, or online, has on mental well-being, making it clear that words have weight. The idea behind this shoot…

Check out Myrissa’s Coca-Cola themed Pinup Photoshoot

Check out this Coca-Cola pinup photoshoot with Myrissa Myrissa and I met in the studio for a photo shoot. She brought three or four outfits and this was one of them. A really neat Coca-Cola branded T-shirt that she bought from spencers gifts. I thought this would make a great pinup look, paired with the other accessories and apparel that she chose for the session. I set up some pinup lighting and we proceeded to capture some really spiffy pinup photos. Check them out! Don’t forget to check back often for new posts and photos.

Fall Colours – Megan Pickersgill

Fall Colours with Megan Pickersgill For this photoshoot with Megan Pickersgill, we decided on a fall colours photoshoot. The change of colours in the fall is spectacular in Ontario. I worked with Megan a couple of times before. I was very pleased with her modeling abilities. We chose to shoot this set in Brunet Park, located in Lasalle, Ontario. The colours in the park were the most saturated I could find, locally, after scouting several parks. We shot in various areas of the park, trying to find the most colourful spots. It was late in the season and winter just around the corner, so the colours were not as dense as they would have…

Creative Halloween Photoshoot – Dee Style

A Creative Halloween Photoshoot with Dee I recently worked on a creative halloween photoshoot in my photography studio with Dee Style. Dee was one of the models featured in a previous collaboration titled "Calaveras." Dee is an amazing makeup artist who loves to do costume makeup for conceptual imagery. This time, Dee wanted to do evil clown makeup, so we set a date and agreed to meet at my studio. The plan was to shoot on a grey seamless backdrop and then use Photoshop compositing techniques to create a series of digital art portraits. The day came and I met Dee at my studio.  We shot for a little over an hour and a…

Swimwear Photography – Point Pelee – Shelby Lee

Swimwear Photography with Shelby Lee I like to do as many swimwear photography shoots as possible during the spring/summer seasons. As with many of my beach/swimwear shoots, I love to use Point Pelee National Park. It has many beaches on both east and west sides so morning or evening, the light is useable. We just pick the beach based on sunrise or sunset. My model on this day was Shelby Lee, a gorgeous blonde model who needed images for Maxim's Finest contest. Shelby was super easy to work with, had previous modeling experience and was very receptive to suggestions with posing and expressions. I will definitely be working with Shelby again! Lighting the Shoot…

Natural Light Studio Portraits – Natalie

Natural Light Studio Portraits at ApS I recently shot some natural light studio portraits with Natalie. Natalie is a natural beauty, an equestrian who loves the camera. The camera loves her equally. Up until this shoot, I worked with Natalie on location only.  In the Studio Natalie and I met at my studio in downtown Windsor, where we proceeded to shoot a number of high quality portfolio images, from headshots to full body portraits using only the light streaming through my studio windows. For some images I used reflectors to bounce the window light back on Natalie to fill shadows. Technical I used my trusty Canon 5D Mark II to capture these images of…

Protected: Swimwear – Point Pelee

Swimwear with a Gorgeous Blonde Model A swimwear shoot is almost a requirement for anyone serious about modeling. It is the perfect way to show off your figure without being too racy. This model and I have collaborated more than a few times. This time, we decided to do a swimwear shoot at Point Pelee. I do as many swimwear shoots as availability and time permits during the warm months. Finding a Spot We arrived at the beach we intended to shoot at and were immediately shooed away by a family who reserved the beach for the day. We visited two of the other West beaches to see if we could shoot without being…
